About Graduate Program

The Department of Industrial Engineering is responsible for the optimal design, implementation, and improvement of production and service systems. Industrial Engineers analyze systems as a whole, identify problems, and develop solutions using engineering principles and analytical methods. Their goal is to efficiently and accurately utilize human, machinery, raw material, energy, and information resources to achieve the best solution. Established in 1991, the Industrial Engineering Department at Erciyes University has been offering services with faculty members specialized in various fields within Industrial and Operations Research. The Industrial Engineering Master's Program was launched in 2004, and the Doctoral Program in 2013, both under the Erciyes University Institute of Science. Graduate students and scholars contribute to science through advanced research on various topics. Faculty members not only engage in scientific work and activities but also contribute significantly to university-industry collaboration through consultancy services and practical projects in various production and service sectors. Since the Fall Semester of 2009, an evening education program has been operational. Undergraduate students complete two semesters of summer internships involving the examination of production systems and the application of industrial engineering methods. Faculty members may also support internship projects. Through these internships and practical projects in courses, students have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in the production and service sectors, gaining valuable experience.

The language of instruction is Turkish.

Industrial Engineering is an engineering discipline tasked with the optimal design, execution, and enhancement of production and service systems. Industrial Engineers analyze systems comprehensively, identify issues, and devise solutions employing engineering principles and analytical techniques. Their objective is to effectively and accurately utilize resources such as humans, machines, raw materials, energy, and information to attain the best outcome.

WHAT ARE THE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES?

Industrial Engineering is not confined to any specific sector or activity area. Industrial Engineers have the flexibility and opportunity to work in a wide array of positions. These include management and management consulting, project management, engineering roles in the production sector such as planning, quality control, research and development (R&D), and decision-making roles in the service sector (IT, finance, healthcare, tourism, transportation, etc.).
